Cinnamon Roll Friday

So I usually try to give Brooks & Brynn a healthy snack between breakfast and lunch. Today we went crazy and had cinnamon rolls for the first time. I let them do their own icing dipping but Brynn pretty much took over the dipping job for both of them. But at least she shared.:)

4 months old

This baby girl is already 4 months old.
At her 4 month well check she weighed almost 15 pounds and was 24 inches long. Her doctor (Dr. Mehrotra) says she's perfect and her mom & dad & brother & sister agree.

Likes:  eating, catnaps, bath time, smiling, laughing, being held

Dislikes:  pacifiers, having her shirt pulled over her head, tummy time

She wears size 6-9 months & has just given up chewing on her hands and moved to trying to holding on to her feet. She's always been a great overnight sleeper, typically 6 or 7 hours overnight.  Most of the time her favorite place to be is right in the middle of the action.  We can hardly even remember life without her sweet little face.

Yep, Brooks and Brynn love catfish!

A few summers ago, I "borrowed" this from The Ponderosa Mass Storage Unit.

I had the dream of becoming a half-way decent catfish fryer.  This was my latest batch

We even had some corn to go with it.

We have always tried to make sure Brooks and Brynn ate a well balanced variety of food. I want them to try new things and have an appreciation for different foods. Besides, you can't live in the South and not like catfish.
Catfish Eatin Lil' Ones!
Dinner tonight was a success and a fun family time.
Keep checking in with us, and we will try to save you some food!

Dressed for work

Brooks & Brynn love to pretend they are going to work. They also pretend to go to the zoo or that they are riding the golf cart at P-Pa & Nana's looking at farm animals & feeding them apples. Brooks came to me this morning looking like this and said,
"Can't play now, Momma. Gotta go to work!"

Put this on the fridge, Mommy.

Brynn drew this today. As I was putting it on the fridge - per her request - I asked what it was....
It's a forrest with a big cow (the largest black blob at the bottom) and an alligator (the black blob at the top).  How'd I not know that?!

Potty training seems to be working even outside!

Outside Fun

Today was a sunny day, so we let Brooks and Brynn play outside. They played with their water table with leftover summer sand!

Backyard Afternoon

We spent part of the afternoon outside today before more cold weather tomorrow.
There was running with sticks,
Finding the perfect rocks,
Some sliding,
And lots of running & screaming & bubble blowing.
Bailee loved watching every minute of it, bundled up snug as a bug with Mommy.

You Gotta Start Somewhere

So, I'm not very good at writing down milestones for my kids.  I've tried making notes to add to baby books, doesn't work for me.  The notes get lost, or trashed, or put in a box.  At night when I have a chance to get out the books to write it all down I fall asleep, or have to work, or just flat forget.  This blog may not get done either, but I figure it's worth a shot.

My goal is to put at least one picture or video on here as often as possible.  My secret goal is to post every day, but I'm not going to hold myself to every single day.  Things happen, and I know EVERY day won't get done, but I'm going to try.

I hope this will serve as a 'baby book' for Bailee as she starts reaching really fun milestones.  And I plan to use it as a way to remember funny things that Brooks and Brynn say or do, along their own milestones since they are just two.  Now that their language skills are developing so quickly there are some very interesting conversations being had here on a daily basis and I don't want to forget them.  I want to have a record for the kids to look back on, and me and Jay, too.  I used to love - and still do - looking at the baby book my Momma kept about me, and I won't lie, I've done a terrible job with doing that for Brooks and Brynn.  There were two of them, and I was tired that first year - VERY tired.:)  But that's no excuse, and I'm sorry I didn't do a better job keeping up with their first year milestones.  You think at the time you will always remember how much they weighed, what they liked to eat, their first tooth….but it starts to escape you all too quickly.  I do have most of that stuff written down for B&B, just not in a consolidated place.  We’ll see how this works.  And not to mention, these kids are so cute and funny, who wouldn't want to see them every day?!
