Need a good book?

Our friend Rachel and her daughters Carson and Kenzie love to read! They have created a blog called Book Jacket to post the book reviews they write. Check them out and see what they have to say. I am also adding their link in our blog roll.

Bubbles!

A little bubble blowing fun on Thanksgiving. They are better when you try to eat them!

It's Tracie's Birthday!

This little "mess" was born 26 years ago today. She arrived at 6:00 A.M.(20 minutes after our arrival at the hospital) and weighed in at 7 pounds and 6 ounces. She was 19 inches long and she had enormous eyes!
Happy Birthday Tracie!

Parker is 3!

Parker is three today!
He celebrated on Sunday with a John Deere party.
There was cake of course.
And lots of presents.
One of his favorites was this Sesame Street house that Pa Lyle and Granny Lerion brought.
But Parker and all his friends loved the bouncy slide the best.
His mama tried it out.

Emily and Abby took a turn.

His aunt Stephanie took a few turns.
It was really fast!

Abby got her face painted with a rainbow. . .
and Carter got tractors and a basketball. He called them tattoos.
It was a great party and all the kids had a time to remember with the bouncy slide and house and the face painting.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO PARKER

What smells like Fall???

Burning leaves, of course!!!

First you have to rake and pile them.....

.....then you just add them to the fire pit in the back yard.

It's a wonder we didn't get kicked out of the neighborhood with all the smoke coming from our backyard.

Helen, GA 2009

Our family took a little detour this year on our fall trip. We usually go to Gatlinburg, but this time we went to Helen, Georgia. This was the lake/big pond in front of our cabin.

This was our home away from home for a few nights. Parker called it Nana's brown house.
Parker's favorite place was the model train display. He went twice!

This is downtown Helen, we were preparing to do a little shopping!
Our cabin had a couple of paddle boats that everyone enjoyed.

Of course, Kelsie went too!

There was marshmallow roasting. . .

and Famous Fred's Peanuts where we learned that we do not like boiled peanuts.
There was carriage rides for some. . .
others choose to join in the Octoberfest celebration.
The horse who took us on a ride was Cadillac Jack. Paker got to feed him a carrot at the end of the ride, but he ate it so fast, I didn't get a picture!

Every year we have the World Championship miniature golf championship. This time it was at Pirate's Cove. The winner gets to keep the raccoon skin cap for a year! Dad had possession when we started, but Joey won it from him!

This is why I never win!
We all had ice cream after the golf game.
On the way home we stopped by the Ocoee River on the way home and made some snapshots where the Olympics were held.
