Meet the Coach

Today, I took Brooks to the soccer complex to meet his coach.  He is playing for Central Tennessee Soccer here in Mt. Juliet.

He has two coaches. Coach Linda and her grandson, Coach Jason.

He will practice on Tuesday nights with Saturday being game day. They have a lot of fields for the kids to play on.

While Daddy listened to people talk, Brooks took to the practice fields.

Here's to a great, fun upcoming season of soccer!

How does your garden grow?

We were pretty excited that our new yard had raised garden beds.  We're even more excited now that we are successfully growing some veggies!
Tomato, squash, and pepper.

And spaghetti squash and tomato in this bed.

Of course our garden is doing do well because it gets a lot of TLC!
And today Jay did our first harvest.

First Day of School

Today was the first day of school!!  B&B did a great job getting ready and out the door early this morning.  They even had enough time to pose for pictures.

The dress code for school is solid color polo or button up shirts and navy, black, or khaki shorts, skirts, or pants.
Your schools name is Stanford Montessori.  You have 22 3, 4, and 5 year olds in your class.  Each 3 year old has an assigned 5 year old 'helper' in class.
We were able to get a family picture in Daddy's room before Mommy and Bailee walked you to your room.
Your teachers are Ms Wood and Ms Bragg.  You guys were excited to get to your room.  You put up your lunch boxes yourself and then I helped you find your lockers (which you thought were really neat).

And then you went to go to sit on the rug where Ms. Bragg was reading books.  I kissed you both bye and told you to have a fun day.  You both pretty much ignored me.  I didn't mind, I knew that was a good sign that you would have a great day.
And you did.  Here's a picture Ms. Wood took at brunch (today was a half day).
You had a peanut butter sandwich, grapes, veggie stix, a few chocolate chips and a juice box.
You guys both said you had a great day. Ms. Wood told your Dad that you guys did awesome!  We are so proud of you.

Meet the teacher

Night before last was "Meet the Teacher" night at school.  We all went.  Jay had to be the teacher his fourth graders were meeting and Brooks and Brynn went to meet their teachers for this year.  They had already met their teacher last week when they were helping Jay get his room ready, but they had not met the assistant who will be helping in their room everyday.  We got there early and stopped off for dinner on the way.
And B&B were having fun playing in daddy's room.
And so was Bailee.
But then B&B got to do a little playing and exploring in their own classroom!

Cruising

Bailee has went straight from pulling up to cruising.  This morning she pulled up at the end if the couch and then 'cruised' down to her sister.
And then to the end of the table.
Where she plopped on her bottom to go play blocks with her brother.  She's not timid about it at all.  She doesn't hold on tight, or seem afraid to fall, and sometimes only uses one hand.  It worries me.  Because it reminds me of someone....

Saturday Fun

We started the day off looking for a new couch.  Thankfully we found exactly what we were looking for at our first stop.  We have a new couch and rug arriving on Thursday.  Bailee was good at helping pick out a rug.
While we were getting our delivery set up the guy helping us brought B&B some water in a "coffee cup" (aka coffee water).
And when it came time to pay, Brooks took care of that too.  He was very serious about it.
Tonight Tracie and Parker came over for dinner.  After dinner the kids helped me make chocolate cobbler for dessert.
They were cutting up the butter for me to melt.  Maybe not necessary, but lots of fun.  These are some great helpers!

While it was cooking, they headed outside to play.  That involved lots of running and screaming and roller coaster riding.

And then it was time for dessert!

Sidewalk Chalk

B&B have really been into coloring the patio bricks with sidewalk chalk lately.  Tonight Little B was trying so hard to get down there with them, so we let her.  She got a little chalk in the mouth a couple of times, but she was actually really good at it using it to draw.  And she was soooo happy to be doing what her brother and sister were doing!

Zoo Day

We are getting in a little more summer fun before B&B start school next week.  Today we met some friends at the zoo.
Bailee and Evie liked playing in the cushioned area of the playground.
Bailee was crawling around like a crazy baby.  B&B did some good jumping and flipping here, too.
We had a nice lunch break in the shade.
We had lots of fun.  I think the kangaroos were the favorite on this trip.  I didn't get many pictures.  Stopping to get pictures seems to get harder and harder these days, but we had a great time.  So much fun in fact, this had happened by the time we got out of the parking lot.:)
