Playground

This morning we finally got around to checking out the playground just down from the house.  It was a huge success and B&B talked their Dad into taking them back this afternoon.  Brynn wanted to get herself ready...so she did.

We walked down the trail and then went to the playground.

There's lots of good things to climb at the playground.

And a slide is always fun.

But what they loved the most was a rock climbing wall!

Brooks went up the first time just like a little monkey.  Brynn watched and then was ready to give it at try.

She figured it right out, too.  This girl can climb a rock wall even wearing cowgirl boots!

In between all the climbing, they did fit in some swinging!

I've got a feeling we're going to get a request to go to the playground every day.

Playing iPad

Brooks is actually a very sweet and caring big brother to Bailee.  He always gets her snack and toys. This morning he let her play Bubbles, Memory, and Fishy-Fishy with him.

Such a good big brother!

Gardening

We've got a couple of raised vegetable beds in our backyard.  We went to Lowes today for a few things for the house and noticed they had some pretty good size vegetable plants left.  We thought we'd try planting a few, so after dinner tonight we planted some tomatoes, squash and pepper.

B&B are always ready to do some digging in the dirt!

Bailee didn't do any digging but she did some watching and squealing.

Brooks tried to climb in the water bucket while Daddy wasn't looking...

Brynn made it all the way in, but I didn't get a picture of that.  Guess they remembered doing that at the beach so it seemed like a good idea in the garden too.

Now we just need our plants to grow!  Hopefully it isn't too late in the season...

Morning walk

We have a trail right outside our back gate.  Of course we couldn't wait to start exploring it!  It's going to be a great place for us to take walks in the woods, go on adventures and ride bikes and scooters.  Here's what we've seen so far:

Lots of sticks

A little creek

Squirrels and rabbits (look closely and you will see a squirrel photobomb in the picture)

It's been such cool July weather the last couple of days and we've all enjoyed a little trail exploring!

Moving Day

We closed on our new house July 1st.  That was a day later than we expected so our moving schedule got a little screwed up.  We'd hoped to have the movers come and get most of our stuff out while B&B stayed with P-Pa and Nana.  Since it got pushed back a day everyone was there to help!  

The movers showed up around 3pm, right after we made it home from signing the papers.

B&B helped carry their clothes out to the car.

And we said goodbye to our old house.

They have been so excited about the new house and never missed a beat.  I was worried they would want to go "home", but yet again they prove me wrong.  No adjustment issues at all.

And here's part of the aftermath....

We are making slow but sure progress getting reorganized around here.  

Cookie!

B&B got a call last night that they had won a free 10 inch cookie from Publix.  We were so excited to go pick it up today!

After nap time, it was cookie time.  And I can't think of a better way to get started..

Guess it seemed like a good idea to Brooks too.

Happy 4th of July!

We've moved!  This is our 3rd day in our new house and it has been a great one.  We'd already met several neighbors and found out there was going to be a firework show tonight so we walked down to the round about to watch the show.  We had fun and it was a good chance to meet people.  The fireworks were really, really good and everyone we've met has been super nice.  

We were out wayyyy past Bailee's bedtime but I just stuck her in a carrier and she zonked right out.  

(Attempted arial selfie of sleeping baby at firework show) Slept through the entire fireworks show.  Didn't even flinch when they set off a pack of 500 firecrackers about 20 feet from her.

Everyone enjoying the show.  Brynn was on the lookout for pink fireworks and Brooks just liked them.  Happy 4th of July!

Hello summer

Even though we are really busy with getting the house packed up, we've tried to still have a little fun with the kids.  And nothing says summer fun like snap and pops...

....and lightening bugs!

More hiding places is one of the best things about packing up your stuff!

Last night for B&B

Tonight is the last night B&B will be sleeping in their rooms at this house.  We talked about it before they went to bed.  They are excited about going to Nana & P-Pa's house tomorrow and having a new bedroom in a new house when they come back.
